Requirements:

Must have CDL – Class A CDL a plus

Tanker endorsement required

Illinois and Wisconsin septage pumping license required after 6 months, we will train, setup and pay for all licensing exams.

Summary of Duties:

• Commercial vehicle licensing/ CDL required- Class A a plus
• Responsible for DOT checks before and after daily routes
• Septic Operator License for WI and IL – testing will be paid for and scheduled by us
• Continuing license renewal and credits every year needed
• Driving truck to each job site and treatment plants- maneuvering residential areas, backing in, etc.
• Job record keeping- invoicing customers, taking payment, recording job information for treatment plants
• Receiving and calling customers for scheduling or execution of jobs

Job Description:

As a driver at Lakeland Septic your number one job is to stay safe on the road and at the job site. Drivers are required to hold their CDL license to operate the trucks as well as septic licenses in Wisconsin and Illinois to comply with all state and federal regulations. Lakeland will provide you with all the tools and training that you need but you must be able to participate in the training and pass the exams.

Daily duties for our drivers include inspecting your truck before heading out for the day ensuring that all DOT regulations are followed and driving to the job site. Once at the job site physical activity such as climbing in and out of the truck, pulling hoses from the trucks, locating tank covers and possibly having to dig them up, lifting the tank covers and completing the septic tank pump out are required. Every job is different, some will be very physically demanding, others will be very simple. All jobs must be done with safety, quality and
efficiency.

Other job duties include record keeping such as truck milage and fuel usage tracking sheets that are turned in weekly. Daily job invoicing, all jobs have a detailed sheet with address, contact and job information that must be followed, completed and turned in as well as taking payment from customers with credit card software or turning in checks with the job sheets. When waste is hauled to treatment plants, each treatment plant has paperwork to turn in and sign that must be recorded correctly. All drivers are expected to work overtime and weekends when needed. Weekends are normally on a rotating schedule which usually requires 1 weekend per month however this is subject to change based on job demand.
